Dr. Siqi Huang earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor. She completed her residency training at The Ottawa Hospital, where she treated psychiatric inpatients, as well as outpatients at The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre coping with concerns such as chronic pain, insomnia, and adjustment to health conditions. Siqi also received extensive training in assessment and treatment of adults, in a variety of settings (hospitals, private practice, university), and using several modalities (e.g., integrative, cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, emotion-focused therapy, multicultural counselling).
Siqi provides assessment and treatment for various concerns, such as: depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal issues, adjustment difficulties, insomnia, pain, and stress. She strives to provide a warm, non-judgmental space, and to build a collaborative relationship with her clients. Her goal is to help clients reach their goals in a way that works for them.
Siqi is able to provide services in English and Mandarin Chinese.
Outside of the office Siqi enjoys art, kickboxing, and finding treasures in second-hand bookstores.
Siqi’s distinctions include: 1) Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Doctoral Fellowship (2020-2021); 2) Ontario Graduate Scholarship (2018-2020, 2016-2017); and 3) Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Canada Graduate Scholarships-Master’s (2015-2016).
